Meski jarang, tapi ada beberapa wanita yang alergi terhadap air mani. Secara medis kondisi ini disebut hipersensitivitas plasma mani manusia (seminal plasma hypersensitivity). Gejala yang ditimbulkan tergantung pada kondisi tubuh dan jumlah air mani yang masuk ke tubuh. Gejala umumnya seperti gatal, kemerahan, lepuh, bahkan kadang-kadang menyebabkan kesulitan bernapas.

2. Air mani dipercaya menjadi sumber energi potensial
Dari perspektif sosial budaya, air mani telah dikaitkan dengan sumber energi potensial dalam pengobatan Cina dan teori Chi Kung.
